A native Texan raised in Fort Dodge, Zach is a U of Iowa graduate who went on to study architecture at Washington University in St. Louis before building a career that spanned seven years in Austin, four in Indianapolis, and seven more in Des Moines. Driven by the belief that a home should elevate the human spirit, he approaches residential design as a sociological discipline — one that shapes how people live.
Beyond design, Zach's industry experience spans a range of scales and typologies across Iowa — including work on Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, the tornado sculpture at Des Moines International Airport, and Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. His broader career includes master planning, GIS, concrete sales, landscape design, estimating, and project management.
Off the drafting table, Zach enjoys gallivanting through the Iowa countryside with friends, sitting down at the keyboard whenever time allows, and of course, Hawkeye football.
With three decades of hands-on experience, Edie brings generational perspective to the world of interiors. She balances freelance design work alongside her design role at West Elm, flexing a pure eye for aesthetics and potential in any situation.
